Designing a Jungle Temple Blockout

This project was an opportunity to explore the design of an ancient jungle temple as a focal point for an immersive environment. My aim was to capture the mysterious allure of a hidden, overgrown temple while laying the groundwork for engaging gameplay and visual storytelling. The temple’s symmetrical steps and prominent doorway were envisioned to draw the player in, sparking curiosity and a sense of adventure.

I focused on blending architectural elements with the natural surroundings, experimenting with how towering trees and placeholder foliage could suggest an overgrown, dense jungle. The goal was to create an organic harmony between the temple and its environment while guiding the player’s attention to key areas of interest.

This blockout represents a step forward in understanding how scale, composition, and atmosphere contribute to level design. The modular approach leaves plenty of room for refinement and iteration, and it’s a chance to continue honing my ability to create spaces that are both visually compelling and functional for gameplay.
